Krugerrand
.
Krugerrand is a South African coin made of gold that was minted for the first time in 1967, whose goal was to support the South African gold on the market.
Its name comes from the portrait of Paul Kruger, (a politician of late nineteenth century who was the President of the Transvaal Republic), engraved on the obverse of the coin, while on the reverse it is possible to see a South African antelope (springbok), one of the national symbols of South Africa. The name Suid Africa/South Africa is shown together with the nominal value in Afrikaans and English.
