Record of WEEE

The record of WEEE belongs to China, which has produced 11.1 million tons of waste, followed by the USA with 10 million.

According to the report Solving the E-waste Problem, every human being is capable of producing 7 kilos of electric waste by himself every year.

On the basis of the investigation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, it came to light that the USA has thrown away 258 million of PC, monitors, televisions and phones in 2010 and only 66% of them has been recycled.

According to the ONU report, the record of waste pro capite goes to Qatar (63 kg), Luxembourg (49 kg), Singapore (36 kg), Norway (33 kg) and Hong Kong (30 kg).

This huge production of waste arouses a question: where do they go to then? The director of the national center for the recycling of electronic equipment (Linell) claims that: not only continuous studies are carried out to improve the recycling process and the disposal of toxic substances contained inside the equipment, but they are also made to know more about the illegal routes of WEEE and manage better interventions.
